TMDC produces several New Dances ever year and Tehreema Mitha is known to be a prolific choreographer, managing to produce new work through the years in conditions of cultural repression in Pakistan and now in the U.S. on an extremely bare budget.
At present the company has two new dance items ready, and three new pieces, which are works in progress. That means we have FIVE new dances to Premiere and find the funding for.
The paying of musicians, the recording fees in professional recording studios, and the purchase of material and sewing of costumes are the major costs for each new item. Our props are kept to the minimum due to a very low budget. The choreographer/composer/designer requires a fee to be paid for all the artistic services. Dancers need to be paid for months of rehearsals and the performances.
To support the company in its continual creative endeavors you can help by donating directly through this page.
We will thank you by putting your name on our website under a particular new dance item, as well as in the printed program when we premiere the said dance. You may also donate anonymously, if you so wish. |
